Slacky McSlacker

Holy crap I've been slacking on the running the last 4 days. Today I have to get out. I am craving a run. Last Thursday was supposed to be my "off" day and Friday turned into a "the-hubby-is-home-lets-enjoy-this-I-want-to-sleep-in" day. Saturday it SNOWED all day so I just stayed home, cooked, put up Christmas decorations and made a snowman. And Sunday I was going to go to the gym for a run but lost motivation. Darn! That night a cold came on and I got very little sleep, woke up with a ginormous headache and stuffy sinuses and just felt like crap so yup, a run didn't happen. Oh well :-) Today I'll try and get in a longer run.

I love the holiday season. Love, love, love it! The food, the lights, the cheer, all is great. Sometimes I wish we could extend it a few more weeks/months, but then I wonder if it'd be as special? I think the food could definitely make it all year and still be just as good :-)

So the plan for the rest of the week? I dunno. Without a training schedule to go by I have a hard time figuring out what to run. How does everyone form their off-season training schedules?

Off-season training schedule...is that an oxymoron?? For the past month, post marathon I've just been running when I want to, sleeping when I want to, and reading the entire Twilight series. Can I tell you I feel an utter and vast void in my life now that I have finished Twilight?? Anyways, I bought P90x and am trying to do yoga, abs, etc. a couple times a week. I totally slack in doing any ab work, so this was a big step for me towards doing something BESIDES running and yoga. Maybe focus on that? And, um, are you knocked up? I'm free 12/19 if you want to get together for lunch, a run, or anything!

December is the month for being a slacker. I haven't run since Thanksgiving. And if you are sick, continue to slack. Those stupid sinus infections can stick around forever if you don't take care of yourself - trust me, I learned this lesson the hard way last year.

You guys are amazingly relaxed for Dec. I NEVER plan an off season in the fall, too many food holidays. For the past few years, I don't think I have an off season. I know it would be wise, but I don't have time, I'm always chasing my next PR, and running out of time (getting old, ha).
