Running Tights
I need a new pair of running tights. Does anyone have a fave pair you can recommend??
Blah-humbug
That's how I feel right now. I'm upset. Super upset. Once again we are not going to be able to try for a baby. Hubby was put on a business trip last minute and once again, will be away during our "trying" time. I mean, we might get a little time when he gets back, but very little I think. I'm trying to be optimistic and think it can still happen...so we'll see. It's still very frustrating when stupid work crap gets in the way of your life, ya know?
Also...I'm still trying to figure out what I want for Christmas. I mean, there are a gazillion things I could ask for but actually figuring those out is tough. I have a few things on the list...
1) some new yoga pants/capris and tanks. I am finally going to start going to these classes at the gym and need some new attire to help me out :-)
2) New sunglasses (I lost my 3rd pair) Yes...I need a thing around my neck :-)
3) Boots. I don't have any great boots and would love to have this pair. The perfect pair to wear with some skinny jeans (that is if I can ever find a freakin' pair of jeans that fit me right)

But I am sure my hubby would rather me get these black over the knee boots :-)

See, I said a few. I still have ALL my shopping to do. I have no idea what to get anyone. And I only have a week to go. Crap!!! Is everyone done with their shopping???
I haven't run for two days now but I have to get out tomorrow. But the next two days are going to be super hectic. I have to drop off the cat at the in-laws tomorrow, and then hopefully get out and get some shopping done. Friday we are going to Sesame Street Live and I am actually looking forward to that. Jackson loves, loves, loves Elmo and I think he'll really like this so it should be fun. And then of course I need to get out all of our Eskimo clothing and pack it all up. Shall be a packed two days but we'll get 'er done. :-)

A Funny Non-Running Joke
Sorry, but this one is funny :-)
It is near the Christmas break of the school year. The students have turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do. All the children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal.
Teacher: "Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can leave early today."
Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here. I'm smart and will answer the question."
Teacher: "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?"
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln."
Teacher: "That's right Susie, you can go home."
Johnny is mad that Susie answered the question first.
Teacher: "Who said 'I Have a Dream'?"
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary says, "Martin Luther King."
Teacher: "That's right Mary, you can go."
Johnny is even madder than before.
Teacher: "Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you'?"
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says, "John F. Kennedy."
Teacher: "That's right Nancy, you may also leave."
Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able to answer to any of the questions.
When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, "I wish these Bitches would keep their mouths shut!"
The teacher turns around: "NOW WHO SAID THAT?"
Johnny: "TIGER WOODS. CAN I GO NOW?"

Midweek Updates
Just thought I'd put it out there that I'm not pregnant, since a couple people have asked :-). I guess ovulating the day of a marathon (according to my internet ovulation calculator) is not conducive to making a baby. Oh well. Better luck this month!! I was kind of hoping for a great excuse to slack up on the running for a few weeks, er, months :-)
I did go for a run yesterday and aside from the snot-flowing nose I felt fine. But about two miles into the run my IT band started to bother me again. This is frustrating. But I guess that's what I get for running after it started to hurt during the marathon. So I hopped on the elliptical for a while more. But ya know, I am just not a elliptical kind of girl unless I am seriously kicking my ass. Literally. There is a great setting for that on the one I use!
I planned on doing something today but we had playgroup this morning and I was just tired and not feeling it so I skipped it during the afternoon. So....tomorrow I am hoping to get to the gym for a little barbell strength class or some yoga. I have been a member at the gym for a year now and have yet to attend a class. This is mostly because almost 3/4 of that year Jackson freaked out and I only got about a half hour at the gym and I didn't want to have to leave during the class. He's been great the last couple months and lately he doesn't even turn his head back when I drop him off, and when I pick him up he turns and runs the other way. Too funny!
Anways, almost two weeks until Christmas and I have zero presents bought. I still have to make a gazillion cookies to send off i carepackages. And do our Christmas/New Year cards. This is going to be a long week two weeks!

Slacky McSlacker
Holy crap I've been slacking on the running the last 4 days. Today I have to get out. I am craving a run. Last Thursday was supposed to be my "off" day and Friday turned into a "the-hubby-is-home-lets-enjoy-this-I-want-to-sleep-in" day. Saturday it SNOWED all day so I just stayed home, cooked, put up Christmas decorations and made a snowman. And Sunday I was going to go to the gym for a run but lost motivation. Darn! That night a cold came on and I got very little sleep, woke up with a ginormous headache and stuffy sinuses and just felt like crap so yup, a run didn't happen. Oh well :-) Today I'll try and get in a longer run.
I love the holiday season. Love, love, love it! The food, the lights, the cheer, all is great. Sometimes I wish we could extend it a few more weeks/months, but then I wonder if it'd be as special? I think the food could definitely make it all year and still be just as good :-)
So the plan for the rest of the week? I dunno. Without a training schedule to go by I have a hard time figuring out what to run. How does everyone form their off-season training schedules?

Now What?
Seriously. Now what? With no races in my future I am having a hard time figuring out what to do now that the marathon is over.
And umm ya, this whole waiting to find out if I am pregnant thing just stinks. I just want to know. Now :-).
More to write later but I haven't been running much at all so what to write on?
Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone!

Two Days Later
I think chasing a toddler around for two days has kept the soreness to a minimum. Bonus! But I'd rather be lying on my couch eating ice cream. Oh wait, I did that last night anyway. I've pretty much been eating like crap the last couple of days. But I can do that, right????
So what's on the agenda? I know a little break from running, obviously. But i need to get my butt to the gym and get some weight on. Do you see those arms? Ya, no muscle. Seriously a sad, sad, sad story. Time to get back to my pushups. I did about 20 a couple weeks ago and holy hell talk about sore after that. I'm so embarrassed! Anyways, getting strong is my number one goal at the moment. But it's back to resting for now. Oh, and prepping the stomach for the food shoveling that'll be happening in a couple days. Yeah!
