Back to the long run....

I slipped on my the last couple weeks. I missed both long runs and I wasn't happy with myself. And for a long run I mean 7+ miles. That's all I'm up to. But I did it today and I feel muuuch better about myself. Hubby is traveling again last week and next week so it was just me and the boy. I knew I should have got up early and got myself squared away before 'lil man woke up, but I went out last night WITHOUT child! So, I wasn't really up for an early morning. But he decided I'd get up somewhat early anyway (6:30....then 7:30). So anyway, I didn't get us going very much after he woke up and finally around 10 I decided to get my butt in gear and go for a run. The sun was already very much out and it was a tad bit on the warm side.

I decided to finally make my way over to the W&OD trail. It's sad that it's our first time there and we've been "here" for a year now. I have to say it was very nice to run all 8.5 miles on a trail vs in the neighborhood. It was so nice to run in a straight line, not have to worry about cars and stopping. And even though it was really warm and it was definitely more challenging than if I'd run early in the morning, it was totally worth it. I was only able to average a 9 min mile but I'll take it. And lucky enough the boy decided it'd be cool to nap the entire time so I didn't feel so bad about having him out in a stroller that long :-)

Agenda for tomorrow: hop on the bike for some cross-training and get myself to a store to buy a new battery for my foot pod. I hate not being able to know my speed and distance!!!! And put together my official training plan. I've been looking at a gazillion different plans and I don't know which one to go with.

Also..need to decide if I'm going to run the Philly Marathon. To do or not to do.....hmm....
